The Senate race in Virginia is set for the Democrat but not for the Republican.

The 2012 United States Senate election in Virginia will take place on November 6, 2012 concurrently with the 2012 U.S. presidential election as well as other elections to the United States Senate and House of Representatives and various state and local elections.  Incumbent Democratic U.S. Senator Jim Webb decided to retire instead of running for re-election to a second term. Both the Republican and Democratic parties have announced that they will select their Senate candidates through primaries on June 12, 2012.  on Mar 28 "Courtney Lynch" decided to pool out of the race and Lynch endorses the Democratic Gov Tim Kaine.  In the meanwhile the  Republican  Party of Virginia took possession of the petitions filed by 4 candidates seeking to be placed on the June 12 U.S. Senate Republican Primary Ballot.  According to sworn affidavits filed by the candidates with the Virginia State Board of Elections, RPV is in possession of the following number of signatures:
