Community Leaders have endorsed John Taylor Chapman in the Democratic Primary for CITY COUNCIL in Alexandria VA


I just received an email from John, asking me to share with you a new and very existing information about his candidacy, he said that he is humbled and delighted to have the endorsement of the Sitting Mayor, Former Police Chief, Two Former Mayors and Others Support Third-Generation Alexandrian, John Taylor Chapman in Democratic Primary for the city council

Alexandria, VA - April  23, 2012 – News Release – John Taylor Chapman, a third-generation Alexandrian and educator running in Alexandria’s Democratic City Council primary receives key endorsements from Mayor Bill Euille, Vice-Mayor and former Mayor Kerry Donley, Councilman Rob Krupricka, former Police Chief David Baker, former State Senator and Mayor Patsy Ticer, former Councilman Ludwig P. Gainesand former School Board Member Gwendolyn Hubbard Lewis.
 
“I have known John for his entire life and he has the life-skills, commitment and dedication to serve all Alexandrians,” said Mayor Bill Euille. “He is proof that service to humanity is the best work of life"
 
In response to Mayor Bill Euille’s endorsement and the other endorsements, John said, “When I started this campaign, it was about helping to give Alexandrians a voice, it is humbling to have the support of these leaders that serve and have served as the voice of Alexandria.”
 
The Chapman Campaign has been running on a diverse platform highlighting the need for increase civil input in Alexandria’s development, housing and education system.
 
"John Chapman has been an active leader in our community and I know he'll be a thoughtful member of Council,” said Councilman Rob Krupicka. “From his professional background in education to his work in the community to create new opportunities for people to get ahead, I know he'll work hard to make Alexandria an even better place.” 
 
As a third-generation Alexandrian, former president of the Alexandria Young Democrats and active member of several civil and city-wide Boards and Commissions, John has received immense support from community leaders including Vice Mayor Donley, former state Senator and Mayor, Patsy Ticer and former Chief of Police David Baker.
