MLK Interfaith/Community Commemoration Programs by All Dulles Area Muslim Society(ADAMS)



The All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) remembers and honors the sacrifice in the civil rights struggle made by
Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We pay tribute to the efforts and conviction of Ms. Rosa Parks and her sacrifice for the civil rights
movement. We thank all those who worked and continue to work tirelessly to safeguard civil rights and civil liberties.
We pray for Peace, Respect, and Harmony.

1) Sunday, January 8, 2012, 3PM 
Interfaith Conference Multi-Religious Service for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday
“What is Dr. King's dream for us today...and tomorrow?"

First Baptist Church of the City of Washington
1328 16th Street NW, Washington, DC (at O St.)
Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Haggray, Pastor
Service: 3:00 p.m. Reception 4:45 p.m.
Speaker: Imam Johari Abdul-Malik, Dar Al Hijrah Islamic Center 
Music: World Children’s Choir and an Adult Choir from the host church
Proceeds from the free-will offering will be given to: The Dr. M.L. King Jr. Center for Non-violent Social Change in Atlanta and three nonprofit organizations chosen by our speaker, host pastor and children’s choir director
 
2) Monday, January 16th, 2012  - 10am
The Leesburg MLK March committee would like to invite you to attend the 
20th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration - "The Dream Is Real Make I Your Reality"
10:00 am -
 Line up for the march on the Leesburg courthouse(directions below) 
10:30 am - March to the Douglas Community Center(directions below)
11:00am-11:15am Arrive at  Douglas Community Center Reception 
11:30 am- Program begins in the Community Center 
1:30 pm- Program concludes 

Light refreshments will be served between the March and the Program in the upstairs cafeteria.

A) Leesburg Courthouse - On the corner of Market and King Streets in downtown Leesburg, VA :
* From the Washington Beltway (I-495) take Route 267 (the Dulles Toll
Road) West toward Leesburg, VA (do not take airport exits)
* Follow Rt 267 West to the Greenway toll road at Dulles. Route
267 becomes the Greenway toll road and proceeds to leesburg (c. 30miles from beltway to Leesburg);
* At the end of the Greenway take the left exit onto the Route
7 West Bypass; take the first exit onto Route 15 North Business into
downtown Leesburg.
* Proceed north to the corner of King Street (Route 15) and Market
Street (Route 7) to the lawn of the Leesburg Courthouse.
